Mountain View, Calif. – January 23, 2009 – Azul Systems today announced the availability of their Azul Compute Appliances on the GSA Schedule through Allen Corporation of America. Purchase of the company’s products can now be made using the GSA Schedule Number GS-35F-0571J on the GSA Advantage website.
With the increased demand of Federal government agencies needing to scale their mission-critical applications while reducing overall costs, this schedule will allow any government agency to easily procure Azul Compute Appliances. Azul Systems’ Compute Appliances enable mission-critical Java-based applications to achieve the fastest performance and scalability in the industry, without complex setup, management, or the high costs associated with those of traditional computing models.
“Already deployed in government agencies, Azul’s Compute Appliances meet the government’s needs by providing increased performance and scalability, while simultaneously reducing footprint, power, space and cooling requirements for Java-based applications. Now with the GSA certification, we are able to accelerate the adoption of our unique products with federal government and agencies,” says Scott Sellers, President and CEO of Azul Systems.
Carlton Jeffcoat, Vice-President of Enterprise Systems at Allen Corporation, stated, “We are pleased that Azul has chosen Allen Corporation to be the GSA Schedule holder for Azul’s products and services. With the Vega family of network attached appliances, Azul brings a powerful and environmentally-friendly solution to our Government customers who have business-critical Java and J2EE applications.”
The inclusion in the GSA schedule is a critical step to do business with the Government. Azul has had many Government customers asking for GSA transaction capabilities to simplify their purchasing procedures.
“Now that Azul Systems has an available Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC), Federal and State Governments can utilize this contract to supply Azul products to the Java-based programs where scale and performance are important,” said Doug Natal, President and CEO of Government Sales Advisors. “I see a large demand for the Azul solution, and this will allow the Government to move much more quickly with their acquisition plans now that the GSA schedule is in place.”
