SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 14, 2012 — Azul Systems, Inc., the award-winning leader in Java runtimescalability, today announced the launch of the Azul Alliance Partner Program for the global Independent Software Vendor (ISV) community. The new program provides software vendors free access to Azul’s Zing for Linux distributions as well as training for Zing’s unique zero-overhead, fine-grained production visibility and performance tool, called Zing Vision.
Azul’s new Alliance Partner Program provides the unique technology ISVs need to differentiate their solutions and gain a sustainable competitive advantage. As an Azul partner, ISVs gain access to tools and resources that will help them improve license revenue, increase sales opportunities, boost software margins and accelerate deal closures. The program also enables ISVs to certify and optimize their products on Zing and leverage joint marketing opportunities with Azul and other ecosystem partners. Announced partners participating in the program include Informatica, OptionsCity, e-Spirit, Quartet FS, and Mercurien.
Azul’s Zing is the industry’s only JVM that dramatically reduces the pauses caused by garbage collection and other JVM-internal delays for Java applications. In comparative testing of real-world applications, Zing reduced worst-case response times by over 40x, and reduced response times by over 7x. With Zing ISVs can confidently address the response time requirements and SLAs of their enterprise deployments.
The Zing runtime for Java provides ISVs with:
- Improved application responsiveness
- Reduced application latency
- Elimination of response time outliers
- Support for large, in-memory data processing
- Elastic scalability with memory heaps that can grow or shrink based on real-time demand
- Dramatically simplified application deployments
- Reduced customer total cost of ownership
- Accelerated time-to-market
- Improved production time visibility and runtime diagnostics
“Building a vast and proactive partners ecosystem is vital for the success of every software technology,” said Massimo Pezzini, VP and Gartner Fellow. “Software vendors who diligently pursue a strategy directed towards winning the support of ISV and OEM partners will be able to provide greater benefits to their clients.”
“ISV partners are a critical component in how we bring our technology to market,” said Scott Sellers, Azul Systems president and CEO. “These new programs will help ISVs leverage the full capabilities of Zing and help them differentiate their products over traditional JVM-based solutions. By allowing ISVs to offer a choice of JVMs to their enterprise customers, they can ensure their solutions meet and exceed the diverse requirements of their end-users.”
The Zing runtime allows enterprise software vendors to deliver unmatched performance, consistency and responsiveness to their customers. Zing is a 100% Java-compatible JVM that scales elastically based on real-time demands, allowing the application to smoothly utilize 100s of GBs of memory and dozens of CPU cores. Because application performance on Zing is insensitive to changes in transaction rates, user load and other runtime metrics which can cause applications running on traditional JVMs to pause, ISVs can now offer a Java runtime that can guarantee application consistency and meet stringent SLAs, even during peak loads.
“Because our enterprise customers rely on the FirstSpirit WCMS for their online presence and internal communications, performance and scalability are critical to their success,” said Robert Bredlau, COO, e-Spirit Inc. “Zing provides our customers a choice in Java runtimes and can ensure a successful deployment and achieve maximum returns on CMS investment, while lowering total cost of ownership.”
“We are proud to be an Azul partner and provide our business analytics customers a choice in Java runtimes,” said Georges Bory, Managing Director, Quartet FS. “With Zing our ActivePivot customers can analyze even more data in-memory with better response times for better decision making.”
“The ability to support ultra-low-latency messaging requires testing and optimization across the entire runtime stack,” said Todd L. Montgomery, vice president, Architecture, Messaging Business, Informatica. “Azul’s partner programs provide our team access to technology and resources to ensure our customers can deploy new functionality rapidly and know that it will perform consistently.”
